We primarily use Classical Conversations for our geography curriculum.
It breaks it down into 5-7 geographical locations to memorize per week,
over the span of three school years. It’s very thorough and includes ancient
civilizations which has proven to be helpful knowledge for our history lessons as well.
Geography was originally an *extra (if we have time) thought* in our curriculum. After realizing
JUST HOW MUCH knowledge the kids acquire after spending five minutes a day on geography,
it is now a MUST in our school day. By the end of the school year, even the 5 year old
knows 100-120 more geographic locations!

Classical Conversations creates the labeled maps for each year, making it really easy on the teacher-pull out the map, repeat that week’s five locations each day,
and that little sponge brain soaks it up pretty darn quick 😉
Year One Map
Year Two Map
Year Three Map
There are so many creative map activities out there to reinforce the memorization,
such as map tracing and watercoloring countries, etc.!
Here is a Google Doc of the locations we memorize each week over three years.
