Insects are one of the most requested study units in our house. Every year we explore the same insects in a variation of ways. Last year, we were proud owners of an ant farm. The kids LOVED it and we highly recommend it. Even I was fully captivated by their productivity-if only I could dig myself out of my laundry piles as quickly as their tiny bodies dig tunnels;)

The boys colored the life cycle of an ant and then created their own life cycle of an ant using the supplies we had (pom balls, yarn, and an ant model).
