The details of connecting your WordPress.org website to its Bluehost web host and getting your blog up and running.
So you’re ready to start your blog?! Congrats. Whether you are looking to make great money from home or you’re ready to share your wisdom with the world, I’m here to cheer you on as you launch your goals into action.
So, before you read further into this post, make sure you’ve signed up with wordpress.org as well as it’s best hosting site, Bluehost. I dive into why I chose both of those over on my post: Top Performing Website Hosting Platform: Why I Chose WordPress.org + Bluehost.

Connecting WordPress Website with Bluehost
#1: Sign up for Bluehost.
#2: Choose your Bluehost Plan.
Read why I chose the Basic Plan, in my first year with Bluehost here.
#3: Choose Your Domain Name.
#4: Finish Signing Up.
Fill out the required personal and payment information.
#5: Log in to Bluehost.
After submitting the final information, you will be sent an email from Bluehost that will confirm your order and will provide you with your login details. Your login details will take you to your control panel of your account. On the main page, you will see a section titled “Website Builders”. In that section, click on “Install WordPress”.
#6: Install WordPress.
After clicking on “Install WordPress”, you will select your domain you’d like to install. You might see your domain displayed with the “www” before it as well as an option without so it. It’s a personal choice, but I recommend going without the “www” because it is shorter to link to and share with others in the future. You can leave the directory space empty. It might come up with files in the directory and inform you it will overwrite these files, but if this is a new account then this is nothing to worry about and you can continue on with the process.
#7: WordPress Install: Advanced Options
Click the checkbox for “show advanced options”. This should show you places to fill in your website title, username, and password.
#9: Wait for Install.
Once it is showing you that WordPress is installing, you’re all set and you will be notified once it is complete. Once it is finished, there will be an orange strip saying “View Credentials”. Click this to reveal your login links for your site.
#10: Log In to WordPress.
Click the /wp-admin link to visit your login page.
Congrats, and let your blogging journey begin 🙂
