I wish there was a one-time fix all for the seemingly, never-ending phase of bedwetting at night.
I’ve yet to find that 😉 But I DO have some tips and tricks that have at least made mom life
a little easier while we wait out this phase of childhood.
Making the Bed with Bedwetting in Mind
Here is how I layer their beds so they can just pull off one sheet in the middle of the night and jump back into bed without needing our help making an entire bed at midnight 😉
Layer 1: Waterproof Fitted Sheet
Layer 2: Normal Fitted Sheet
Layer 3: Pee Pad
Layer 4: Normal Fitted Sheet
If someone has an accident in the night, he can remove the top fitted sheet and the pee pad and have a fresh fitted sheet to already ready to hop back on and go back to sleep!
Bedwetting Alarm System
For our older bedwetters who have struggled with catching on to staying dry at night with normal methods, this Therapy Bedwetting Alarm System has been very helpful. It comes with videos that help encourage and educated the child as well as a specific recording system to really get to the bottom of the timing and causes of the accidents. We can only speak from our own experience, but have found it to be worth the investment over the simpler, cheaper brands on the market.
Although they don’t prevent accidents, I have found these padded undies to be helpful. They allow the kids to still feel the sensation of bedwetting, while lessening the mess a bit!
